Job purpose: The job has a fourfold function (a) to lead and manage a team of solution architects (b) to be responsible for all architectural projects within the domain including ensuring all appropriate governance gateways are carried out (c) to ensure delivery of architectural solutions by the team are in-line with the Technology strategy and (d) to support the delivery of architectural solutions where appropriateKey areas of responsibility Work with all the ‘Heads of’ within Technology ensure that all potential current and future solution architecture engagements are identified and prioritised.Work closely with the Lead Business Analyst to ensure that architecture is engaged early on where appropriate in idea exploration and project initiation.Develop and own the strategy and architecture for a 1/3 of the business area Main tasks Provide an architectural consultancy function to the portfolio, programmes and impacting their domain.Provide consistent, high-quality, business-focused architectural guidance and design, throughout the lifetime of the projects, consistent with the “to-be” architecture and Technology strategy.Work with the Lead Business Analyst to ensure that activities are co-ordinated and supported between their respective teams.Influence the shaping and direction of projects in their domain so that they rationalise the Technology architecture and reduce the legacy burden of aging systems and move towards the “to-be” architecture.Work closely with Technology colleagues to ensure all aspects of an architecture including the non-functional and soft functions are covered.Work with the Head of Architecture to evolve the “to-be” architecture of the Library in a manner consistent with its overall long-term strategy.
