Role Description:
We are looking for a dynamic Hospitality & Personal Assistant to join our team. The individual will be responsible for overseeing various functions within the Franschhoek Wine Tram’s hospitality department and providing essential support to senior management. Responsibilities include guest experience curation, overseeing bookings and transfers, and stakeholder engagement. Additionally, this role involves personal assistant duties such as managing schedules, handling communications, and assisting with operational tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
Hospitality & Operational Support:
- Oversee and ensure smooth day-to-day operations, maintaining high service standards.
- Curate and manage guest experiences, ensuring a seamless journey that exceeds expectations.
- Address customer service inquiries, complaints, and special requests to align with Franschhoek Wine Tram’s high standards.
- Manage relationships with stakeholders, including wine estates, transfer services, and suppliers.
- Ensure efficient utilization of assets following operational procedures (SOPs).
- Generate daily reports related to service operations (e.g., guest onboarding/offboarding, wine sales, cash-ups).
- Continuously seek improvements in operational processes to enhance efficiency and service delivery.
Personal Assistant Responsibilities:
- Provide direct support to senior management by managing schedules, coordinating meetings, and handling communications.
- Assist with various administrative tasks, including preparing reports and correspondence.
- Serve as a liaison between senior management and other teams or external stakeholders.
Staff Training & Development:
- Support team members with guidance and development, ensuring high levels of customer service.
- Assist with staff performance reviews and identify opportunities for growth and improvement.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Tourism, Commerce, Hospitality Management, or a related field is advantageous.
- 5-10 years of experience in hospitality, customer service, or tourism.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
- Hands-on, proactive approach with the ability to support teams in delivering outstanding service.
- Previous experience in personal assistant roles, including managing schedules and communications, is highly desirable.
- Must be able to work weekends and public holidays as required.
- Valid driver’s license and own transportation.
- Relocation to Franschhoek or the surrounding wine valley is essential.
