The Role
The Warehouse Manager is responsible for managing the throughput, value added services, and storage of product in the physical warehouse. This includes all equipment, people, processes, and the regulatory framework required to ensure all warehouse targets are met. To deliver efficient and cost-effective functionality and sustained profitability of the business operation. Perform other duties as and when requested by Department head and manager within own area of abilities and responsibilities. Compulsory management of Stock Counts.
Skills and Experience
- Achieve all operational KPI’s.
- Ensure operational stability and productivity of inbound, outbound, and other processes.
- Manage all operational staff and their development.
- Ensure proper housekeeping, safety & inventory control.
- Update and maintain processes and work instructions.
- Ensure ongoing training for operational staff.
- Ensure continuous improvement targets are met.
- Control costs within budget.
- Understanding customer needs, building, and maintaining solid customer relationships.
To be successful in this role you will require the following:
- Demonstrated warehousing experience preferably in the Retail industry with minimum 5 years’ experience.
- Proven Managerial & Leadership skills.
- Risk Management skills.
- Minimum 5 years in warehousing/ Inventory management.
- Demonstrated supply chain management experience.
- Excellent written and oral communications skills.
- Strong analytical & negotiation skills.
- Should also possess excellent computer skills, advanced analytical skills, presentation skills, and good people skills.
- Strong problem-solving ability teamed with the ability to delegate work.
- Capacity to manage and maintain an effective team environment.
- Good interpersonal skills and a team player who displays initiative.
Other - Minimum: Certificate in Logistics / Supply Chain or equivalent experience.
- 7-10 years’ experience in a similar role.
- Pharmaceutical Knowledge (advantageous).
- Good Knowledge on GWDP (Good Distribution and Wholesale Practices).
- Health and Safety (OSH Act).
- Good understanding of SAPC and SAHPRA Guidelines.
- ERP System.
- WMS System.
- Advanced MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- Must have a clean criminal record. This is an inherent requirement of the job considering that the job function is undertaken in a high risk area. Candidates must be clear of convictions of fraud, theft, hijacking, or any other serious and violent crimes, and any other related offences.
- Must be able to work long hours.
- Must have own transport.
- Must be able to travel between sites.
- Must be in very good health.
