Job DescriptionSpeedel has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Business Development Manager. This role is full time with a flexible work schedule built around your lifestyle and commitments with hybrid working from our Leicester office in Thurmaston.
We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to manage and develop our sales and marketing activities, which will be achieved through calls, campaigns, customer visits, email as well as virtual meetings.
The scope of the role
As the Business Development Manager your role spans every aspect of the commercial activities for our class leading same day delivery service. These will include
- Shaping and promoting the Speedel brand and developing the digital sales and marketing strategies that deliver growth across a broad range of end users and market sectors
- New customer identification, qualification, acquisition, on-boarding and relationship building
- Customer communication and account management to maximise retention and repeat business
- Developing the selling skills of our operations team to leverage the outstanding customer experience they already deliver
Main responsibilities
Your time will be split appropriately across Marketing (approximately 10%), New Customer Sales (70%) and Account management and team development (20%). The key activities include
- In a B2B environment you will shape and lead the marketing strategy through research industry trends, planning and implementing digital campaigns, as well as trade shows and conferences, that provide access to and penetrate markets, sectors and customers where same day delivery services can deliver real value, differentiation and paradigm shifts for both customers and end users.
- Staying current in the industry by attending conferences, and workshops and maintaining personal and professional networks.
- Identification of potential new customers from enquiries as well as through social media, existing contacts, your own research and recommendations.
- Preparing proposals and quotations for new clients and making face to face sales presentations and sales calls to secure new accounts.
- Manage the on-boarding of new clients and ensuring the operations team are fully aligned to deliver and service any special, new or additional requirements that have been agreed.
- Periodic follow up with existing clients to maintain strong working relationships and gain feedback on competitors, industry trends and opportunities for service and system improvements that enhance the customer journey and maintain our class leading products.
- Generating monthly sales reports that cover performance in new business and base activity revenues to the budget
- Generating quarterly marketing reports and rolling annual revenue forecast by quarter
Key skills
You will be an exceptional communicator using both audio and video technologies, customer focused and able to quickly build confidence, connections and rapport with prospective, new and existing clients. You will also reflect our core values and establish trust in our organisation.
- A minimum of 5 years relevant experience in B2B sales.
- Results orientated and an excellent track record in B2B sales
- Potential to use and introduce multiple sales tools simultaneously to complete sales transactions. (CRM, Microsoft etc)
- Ability to articulate the value proposition of our service offering
- Reliable, trustworthy and highly organised and capable of working under pressure
- Enthusiastic and flexible with a strong drive to generate sales
