The successful candidate will be proactive and focused on producing accurate accounting work.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations
- Review and report exceptions for Creditors and Debtors Control, Salary and Wage Control and Bank Reconciliations
- Initiate, prepare, and process monthly journals
- Distribute monthly general ledger reports to operations
- Maintain the general ledger, reconcile inter-company loans and transactions, and investigate income statement variances
- Check, approve, and release EFT payments, and ensure the accuracy and validity of petty cash
- Collect stock take information from operational units, conduct monthly stock count inspections, and reconcile physical counts
- Report stock variances to operational units and ensure resolution
- Provide guidelines and support for annual audit stock count preparation
- Assist in the preparation and review of draft management accounts and forecast data analysis, supporting management accounting in producing accurate management account packs and monthly reports
- Cost management and analysis
Education:
- BCom Degree in Finance or Accounting required
- Qualified SAIPA
Job Experience & Skills Required:
- Completed SAIPA articles
- Post-articles experience in a full function accounting role
- Manufacturing / FMCG / Import and Export industry experience essential
- Sage Evolution experience essential
- Management experience essential
- Advanced Microsoft Excel
- Strong organizational skills
- Business and financial acumen
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Able to analyse statistical information and interpret financial data to produce reports
- Good oral and written communication skills
