National Business Development Manager
Our client, a well-established and premium international FMCG focused on personal care and cleaning products, seeks to expand business opportunities in South Africa/Africa and build a sales and customer service division. Please note this role is a remote working role, reporting to head office abroad, and is initially on a fixed term contract; acting as a development product agent, with the view to building a satellite division in SA and Sub-Saharan Africa. Therefore, extensive travel in SA and various African countries is essential.
We require a hands-on manager who has experience in new business development within the formal and informal retail sector, with expansion into Africa being a long-term goal. You must have experience in import and export pricing strategies, as well as knowledge of INCO terms.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement sales/pricing strategies for accelerating growth.
- Develop business plans for various regions and markets (informal and formal).
- Create, maintain, and expand distributor relationships.
- Build relationships and negotiate with retailer stakeholders.
- Provide stock and ensure merchandising efficiency in stores.
- Prepare for extensive travel in SA and eventually across borders into Africa.
Minimum Requirements
- Tertiary qualification in Business or Sales/Marketing.
- 10+ years experience in Personal Care Product or Consumer Packaged Goods business development at a senior level.
- Knowledge of INCO terms.
- Strong self-discipline, work ethic, drive, and results-driven/entrepreneurial traits.
- Valid driver’s licence, own car, and a clear criminal and credit record.
