Job Description
This role manages profitability & delivery of new business nationally. The role is individually accountable for Strategy formulation along with the execution of sales strategy through other managers and their teams over a 1-3 year period.
Management Effectiveness
- Builds a high-performance ethic nationally amongst staff.
- Defines and implements sales best operating practice.
- Defines performance parameters (incl. balanced scorecard) and measurements for area under supervision.
- Develops MOs and specialists under supervision.
- Holds first line managers accountable for managerial work, including selection, performance management and talent management.
National Distribution Strategy
- Gathers market intelligence & incorporates information into the national strategy.
- Implements national strategy with clear and measurable action plans on branch level.
- Individually accountable for execution of sales strategy over a 1-2 year period.
- Review effectiveness of strategy and re-align continuously.
- Understands markets, economic and political opportunities nationally and deals with environmental threats.
Resource Management
- Manages resources such as markets and technology nationally.
Risk Management
- Ensures Financial Services Industry regulations are adhered to.
- Manages and minimizes business risk nationally.
Sales Support
- Manages the support processes nationally.
Sales/ Productivity
- Drives operational excellence throughout area of supervision.
- Ensures budget is met.
- Manages profitability & delivery of new business nationally through other managers and their teams.
- Responsible for building & growing the business nationally.
Stakeholder Management
- Manages all stakeholders in national market.
- Strong relationship and networking focus.
This position has been identified as a FAIS position and falls within the ambit contemplated by FAIS, related to category B. The successful candidate must therefore comply with all FAIS requirements including the Fit and Proper requirements of Honesty and Integrity (i.e., be clear of any offence related to fraud, dishonesty and/or any professional misconduct) as well as competence. Must have at least one year of management experience and oversight of a sales channel across various product categories.
