The Marketing Manager (Africa) will be responsible for driving and managing the marketing strategy and initiatives across the African region for a leading global equipment manufacturing company.
This role is based in Pretoria and requires a seasoned marketing professional with proven management experience, a deep understanding of African markets, and the ability to work in a dynamic, multinational environment.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and executing marketing plans to support business growth, enhance brand visibility, and ensure customer engagement across diverse markets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Marketing Planning:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive marketing strategy for the African region aligned with global objectives.
- Conduct market research and analysis to identify market opportunities, customer needs, and competitive positioning.
- Set clear objectives and KPIs for marketing campaigns, with a focus on driving growth and brand recognition.
- Regional Marketing Execution:
- Lead marketing campaigns, product launches, and promotions tailored to regional markets in Africa.
- Manage digital marketing, PR, and communication strategies to ensure a strong presence across multiple channels.
- Oversee local adaptation of global marketing materials and messages, ensuring relevance to the African markets.
- Team and Stakeholder Management:
- Manage, coach, and mentor a regional marketing team, ensuring high performance and alignment with business goals.
- Collaborate closely with sales, product management, and global marketing teams to ensure consistency and effectiveness of marketing efforts.
- Engage with external stakeholders, including advertising agencies, media outlets, and event organizers.
- Budget Management:
- Manage the regional marketing budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources and achieving a strong return on investment (ROI).
- Track and report on campaign performance, analyzing metrics and making data-driven decisions to optimize future initiatives.
- Customer Relationship and Market Expansion:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, distributors, and partners across Africa.
- Support the sales team with marketing tools, collateral, and strategies that drive customer engagement and business development.
- Explore opportunities to expand into new markets, understanding regional regulations, market dynamics, and customer behavior.
- Market Analysis and Reporting:
- Regularly report on market trends, customer insights, and competitor activities to inform business strategies.
- Analyze sales data, marketing performance, and customer feedback to continuously refine marketing efforts.
Key Qualifications and Experience:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.
- A relevant postgraduate qualification (e.g., MBA or Marketing Diploma) is an added advantage.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in marketing, with at least 3-5 years in a managerial role, preferably in the manufacturing or industrial sectors.
- Proven experience in managing marketing operations.
- Demonstrated success in leading and managing a diverse team in a fast-paced, multinational environment.
