We are seeking an experienced Senior Payroll Manager to lead and implement a new in-house payroll system after years of outsourcing. This role offers an exciting opportunity to establish and manage a payroll function while ensuring compliance, accuracy, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement and deliver an accurate, compliant, and timely payroll operation.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a small payroll team.
- Establish and maintain payroll systems, controls, and team responsibilities.
- Manage the Oracle payroll system and ensure changes are controlled.
- Ensure weekly and monthly payrolls are processed accurately and on time.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to meet financial and audit requirements.
- Ensure compliance with HMRC statutory reporting.
- Conduct payroll data analysis and reporting.
- Drive improvements in payroll procedures and best practices.
Skills & Experience Required:
- Proven experience as a Payroll Manager, ideally within HR, managing both weekly and monthly payrolls.
- Expertise in payroll legislation, tax, pensions (auto-enrolment), and benefits.
- CIPP Level 5 qualification.
- Experience with payroll process controls, audits, and system implementation.
- Strong knowledge of the Oracle Payroll System.
- Advanced MS Excel skills for data interpretation and reporting.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
