The Head of Facilities Management is responsible for overseeing all aspects of facilities management, including maintenance, operations soft services, OHS, and CAPEX projects. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in facilities management, strong leadership skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. They play a critical role in ensuring that our facilities meet the needs of our tenants and employees while supporting our business objectives. Furthermore, they are responsible for the development and implementation of strategic plans for the maintenance and operation of all facilities, including preventive maintenance programs and capital improvement projects, with the aim of improving standards and efficiencies as well as asset preservation through appropriate resource planning (employees, vendors) and working closely with Asset Management and Property Management.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Level 6 - Matric with a relevant tertiary qualification in engineering or building science.
- 10 or more years of experience in facilities management (of which at least 3 years at a supervisory level).
- Experience in operations management and financial management.
- Experience in developing and implementing risk management programs and strategies.
- Experience with contract management.
- Knowledge of relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations and standards.
- Proven ability to manage budgets, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Professional certifications in facilities management are a plus.
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to effectively manage a team and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders.
- A valid Code EB (08) driver’s license and own transport.
- Knowledge of the property industry.
