JOB TITLE: General Manager Sales & Marketing
PURPOSE: Developing and implementing sales and marketing strategies, maintaining customer relations, and leading team of sales and marketing associates.
MAJOR TASKS: Sales and Marketing GM Responsibilities: - Development and implementation of Sales & Marketing Strategies
- Conducting market research on competitor products
- Designing and implementing marketing plans for company products
- Coordinating with media representatives and sponsors
- Working with sales team to develop targeted sales strategies
- Maintaining customer relations
- Tracking sales data to ensure the company meets sales quotas
- Creating and presenting sales performance reports
- Manage export markers effectively, identifying and capitalizing on growth opportunity
Customer Relationships: - Manage strategic relationships of all key accounts
- Understand their structures & key decision makers
- Provide regular updates on performance, & introduce new initiatives & products
- Understand the macro & micro environment of the region, know the customer base & provide guidance & support in dealing with customers
- Identify opportunities of growth
- Be the face of the organisation at industry functions
Reporting & Administration - Conduct monthly forecasting for Mini BPT and Demand Forecasts
- Weekly forecasts and call reports & follow up on any issue that requires intervention
- Compile monthly sales reports for RHQ, & represent the region on monthly telecons
- Compile and represent sales Quarterly Business Review (QBR)
- Update year to date performance, & substantiate any deviation to plan
- Authorise credit request / credit notes, and manage any requests for stock rotations
- Ensure that all CRM data is updated & reviewed regularly
- Ensure the sales process summary (SF-000) is executed, updated and adhere to by all stake holders
Financial Management - Prepare the departmental annual budget
- Manage the department budget within the prescribed limits
- Approve requests for signage
- Approve expense claims
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES - Bachelors degree in Marketing, Business or Related field
- Minimum 5years experience in sales and marketing at a senior level within the Independent Aftermarket
- Excellent analytical skills
- High-level communication and networking skills
- Ability to lead meetings at a senior level
- A passion for sales
- Understanding of commercial trends and marketing strategies
- Good project management skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
