Purpose of the role
Managing and supervising the Business Development Team by developing business plans, meeting planned goals, converting leads. The role will also involve careful strategic planning and positioning in the appropriate markets and enhancing the position and reputation of the business. Requires oversight of the activities and performance of the team. This position reports directly to the Sales Director.

Experience
- Previous work history in a similar environment of at least five years
Responsibilities
- Research and identify new business opportunities including new markets, growth areas, trends
- Achieve and/or exceed set financial targets for personal and team
- Drive Business Development managers to become specialists to assist with cross-selling into the client base
- Responsible for performance management of the BDM team nationally
- Manage all BDM opportunities
- Drive sales holistically in the BDM team and assist the team with closing deals
- Set goals for the business development team and develop strategies to meet those goals
- Generate leads and cold call prospective clients
- Pursue leads and move them through the sales cycle
- Meet with clients face to face
- Report on weekly client engagements for self and team
- Foster and develop relationships with clients
- Understand the needs of clients and be able to respond effectively to meet these requirements
- Preparation of quotes and proposals
- Ensure proposals are managed in terms of accuracy and completed within SLA
