Taproom/ Outbound Events Manager - Bars
Job Overview:
1 Year Fixed Contract, Renewed Annually on a rolling basis (3 month probation)
Salary: £24,000 to £30,500 per annum* (depending on experience)
Hours: 35-45 hours (including weekend work)
Holiday: 8 bank and public holidays, plus 20 days annual leave pro-rata.
Docks Beers is a brewery, taproom and live music and comedy venue based in a converted church
near Grimsby Docks. We’re looking for a knowledgeable and ambitious Manager to join our team
and run our busy bars in the taproom and the upstairs venue. As an experienced Manager or
Assistant Manager with at least 3 years in this type of role or similar, you’ll already have a solid
background in a busy, high-profile restaurant-bar environment. Great customer service and
hospitality are your passion and you will only be satisfied with the highest standards. Customer

You will be responsible for the financial performance of bars, working with the directors on
achieving the business goals. This role will operate out of our Docks Beers/Docks Academy site in
Grimsby, although you will be required to work off site. This member of our team reports directly
to the Directors of the Company, and will undergo a monthly performance review meeting..
WHAT THE JOB ENTAILS
● Day-to-day running of the Docks Taproom Bar, Docks Container Bar, Outbound Events.
● Taking the mobile bar to events, including set (Heavy Lifting)
● Manage and grow a dedicated team including training and shift-planning (rotas)
● Maintain ePOS system and provide weekly activity and performance reports
● Ensure revenue and gross profit targets are achieved
● Maintain exceptional health & safety standards
● Staff recruitment and training
● Lead regular meetings to update and motivate staff
● Liaise with on-site customers (including serving food and drink)
● Ensure high standards of customer service are maintained at all times
● Stock management; undertake regular stock checks, place orders with suppliers deliveries
and stock handling
● Respond to customer enquiries in every format (email, telephone etc)
● Oversee bar/venue safety and security
● Oversee cellar maintenance and quality standards
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR IN CANDIDATES
● 2 years+ Manager or Assistant Manager experience
● Enthusiasm for craft beer and music
● Experience leading a large and successful hospitality team
● Ability to work well individually and as part of a team
● Personal license (desiable)
● Experience running a food led operation helpful but not essential
● Excellent communication skills, spoken, written and verbal
● Management skills and experience
● Highly organized and effective time management
● Leader and motivator
● Happy, sociable with a natural tendency towards being hospitable/attentive
● Computer literate including at least a working knowledge of Microsoft Word & Excel
● Health & Safety knowledge
● Hold clean UK driving license
