DIVISIONAL INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATIONS TECHNOLOGY (ICT) EXECUTIVE - JOHANNESBURG
Introduction
The ICT Executive will form part of the Client Executive Management Team (EXCO) and participate in the Client divisional board, and will report to the CEO of Client (Pty) Ltd. Only candidates with clear and proven capability to fulfill the ICT Executive role will be considered in this recruitment process.
ICT Executive Role
The divisional ICT executive is responsible for facilitating, coordinating, and leading the implementation of a digital strategy in the division, with the primary objective of contributing to the overall success and achievement of the business objectives.
The role is also responsible for the ongoing delivery of all ICT services at the division, continually ensuring their suitability and integrity. In exercising these responsibilities, the incumbent is required to ensure that ICT resources are effectively and efficiently used to meet the objectives of the business, and that risks relating to the use of ICT in the company are appropriately managed.
The following key deliverables are the responsibility of the ICT Executive role:
- ICT strategy Development: Formulate and implement a comprehensive ICT strategy aligned with Clients overall strategy. Set strategic direction for ICT services and solutions and ensure end-to-end alignment with the objectives of the business
- Change Management: Oversee all aspects of the ICT operations, including ensuring that ICT investments are aligned to business needs, and projects are executed in line with Client standards.
- Strategic Partnerships: Establish and maintain strong relationships with key service providers and technology partners. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to leverage partnerships that enhance Clients technology offering and drive mutually beneficial opportunities with stakeholders.
- Technology Analysis and Insight: Stay updated with local and global industry trends within the ICT space, therefore ensuring that an appropriate enterprise architecture strategy is designed, scoped, and implemented across the business, to sustainably meet the needs of the business from a commercial and operational level.
- Service Management: Ensure ICT services are well defined, and service delivery meets agreed and expected levels. Facilitating organisational growth through data systems and digitalisation of infrastructure.
- Team Leadership: Ensure that Client has an optimal ICT team in terms of IT capacity and capability to deliver against agreed performance levels. Foster a collaborative and results-driven culture that empowers individuals to meet and exceed targets, while fostering a customer-centric approach.
Competency Requirements
- Proven track record and capability to develop and implement long-term strategic plans based on local and global manufacturing/industrial trends.
- The ability to build, lead and motivate world class and high-performing executive teams.
- Must have the ICT acumen to explore new opportunities, develop strategic alliances, and prioritizing Business needs within the consumer products, retail and manufacturing industry.
- Possess the capability to analyse IT trends, highlighting new opportunities, and build creative strategies to foster the development of new IT initiatives.
- The ability to identify and manage risks that could impact the company's performance, including financial, operational, and reputational risks.
- The ability to build and maintain positive relationships with a range of stakeholders, including industry stakeholders, customers and service providers.
Search Scope
The preferred candidate:
- Has a post-graduate IT qualification, an MBA or similar managerial qualification. Possession of an engineering qualification e.g., B Eng. or BSc Eng. will be an added advantage.
- 15 + years of strategic leadership experience in large scale industrial environments.
- Has a successful ICT Strategy implementation track-record, preferably in the manufacturing industry.
- Proven strategic and leadership success.
