As a key member of the organization, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing the operations of a crucial client contract. The successful candidate will have a strong background in logistics management and operations management, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality results in a fast-paced environment.Main Duties & Responsibilities:Develop and implement logistics strategies to achieve business objectives, ensuring efficient and cost-effective transportation, warehousing, and property strategy.Manage the logistics operations team, providing guidance, coaching, and mentoring to ensure high levels of performance and employee satisfaction.Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including procurement, service delivery and sales to ensure seamless execution of logistics operations.Analyse and optimize logistics processes to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance customer satisfaction.Develop and maintain relationships with carriers, vendors, and other stakeholders to ensure reliable and cost-effective services.Manage budgets and costs associated with logistics operations, ensuring accurate forecasting and reporting.Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and company policies.Lead health and safety across all UK sites ensuring a safe culture is always promoted.Develop and implement metrics to measure performance, track progress, and identify areas for improvement.Lead projects and initiatives to improve logistics operations, such as process re-engineering, technology implementation, and supply chain optimization.Stay up to date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to continuously improve logistics operations.Relocate existing warehouse facility to a brand-new purpose-built locationBuild and maintain excellent client relationships.Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications and Experience: Minimum 10 years of experience in logistics operations management, with a strong background in transportation management, warehousing, and inventory management.Proven track record of delivering high-quality results in a fast-paced environment.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence and motivate others.Experience with transportation management systems (TMS), warehouse management systems (WMS), and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.Strong understanding of regulatory requirements, industry standards, and company policies related to logistics operations.Nice-to-Have:Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or a related field.Master's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or a related field.Experience with lean principles and six sigma methodology.Knowledge of international trade regulations and customs compliance.Familiarity with data analytics tools and software (e.g., Excel, Tableau, Power BI).In return for your hard work, we offer excellent career progression opportunities and a professional environment where you can acquire, use, and continue developing your skills.Your package will include: Competitive Salary and pension scheme with life assurance25 Days Holiday (plus 8 statutory Bank Holidays)Holiday buy-back scheme (5 additional days available)Private medicalBonusCar allowance
