The Role: Engagement Manager, Platforms & Channels
The Team: S&P Markit Intelligence Platforms and Channels provides data technology and services supporting acquisition, ingestion, content management, mastering and distribution to power S&P business line and customer needs. Business delivery partners with internal stakeholders to understand business strategy to develop data and content distribution technology solutions for S&P Global’s divisions and product lines. Focus is on platform scale to support business lines through a common data lifecycle that accelerates business value.
The Impact: This Platforms & Channels Engagement Manager role is responsible for overall management of identified new engagements with business lines, and reports to the head of Engagement Management in Customer Services in Business Delivery. The primary function of the engagement manager is to oversee the planning, execution, tracking and reporting of business line engagements that use P&C technology platforms to publish, transform and distribute their data to S&P channels. The ideal candidate will be an excellent project manager who has experience with data and technical projects that require coordination across disparate teams. They will also have strong analysis skills to be able to understand the business lines’ requests and to explain how our products and services meet their needs.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the First line ("front door") triage of any requests from business lines.
- Responsible for information gathering and qualification of incoming requests to drive engagement triage and routing through the Business Engagement process.
- Coordinate engagement between business line and Solutions owners to ensure scope, timeline and outcomes are aligned.
- Project managing larger engagements with internal business lines from inception to completion. Facilitating the communication of new requests and updates on existing product requests between product management and business lines to ensure new requirements are captured, qualified, and delivered.
- Post-delivery, maintain relationship, follow up with business lines to get feedback / lessons learnt as well as identifying future work and product requirements.

- BSc in Computer Science, Engineering or Finance with at least 5 years of professional experience in a technical or analytical data related role.
- Extensive working knowledge of databases and data modelling; Microsoft SQL preferred.
- Experience with at least one major cloud provider. AWS and GCP preferred.
- Should be able to mentor and guide more junior team members.
- Proactive, self-starter and motivated - should be able to manage their own workload effectively and drive onboarding projects to completion.
- Ability to work with various global teams (technical and non-technical), including product management, business, data governance, third party data suppliers, data engineering, development, and operations.
- Fluency in English, spoken and written.
