Our client in the technology industry is looking for a Communications Co-ordinator to join their highly skilled team in Port Elizabeth.
Description
The Communications Co-ordinator will play a key role in drafting and executing the communication strategies. This will include coordinating and implementing internal and external communication strategies, ensuring consistency, clarity, and engagement across all channels.
Requirements:
- A bachelor's degree in communication, or a related field is essential.
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience in communications and a proven track record in the industry.
- Ability to work irregular hours.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Highly organised and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and willing to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
- Driver's licence is essential.
Responsibilities:
Internal Communications:
- Develop and execute internal communication plans to ensure alignment with organisational objectives and culture.
- Draft and distribute internal newsletters and announcements to keep employees informed and engaged.
- Coordinate with department heads to gather information and updates for internal communication materials.
- Manage internal communication platforms and promotions to facilitate employee engagement and interaction.
External Communications:
- Draft compelling external communication materials, including press releases, articles, newsletters, and blog posts to enhance brand visibility and reputation.
- Monitor industry trends and news to identify opportunities for effective external communications.
Email Marketing:
- Plan, create, and execute email marketing newsletters and mailers to nurture leads, promote products/services, and drive engagement.
- Analyse email performance metrics and open rates.
Social Media Management:
- Develop engaging social media copy for various platforms, including Facebook, X, LinkedIn, and Instagram.
- Monitor social media channels and relevant industry forums for brand mentions, comments, and messages, responding promptly and appropriately.
Content Creation:
- Write and edit high-quality content for various purposes, including website copy and marketing collateral.
- Collaborate with internal teams to develop content that resonates with target audiences and supports marketing and sales objectives.
- Ensure all content adheres to brand guidelines and maintains a consistent tone and style.
General Coordination:
- Assist in organising events and activations by developing promotional materials and managing communication logistics.
- Stay informed about industry best practices and emerging trends in communication to continuously improve strategies and tactics.
