Our client in the Logistics Industry is seeking a Senior Consultant: Operational Excellence to join their team in KZN.
Purpose of the role: The Senior Consultant: OE is responsible for enabling and facilitating the adoption of the operational excellence culture within the KZN Operations through change management, training, and coaching of the business units and/or contracts on continuous improvement tools.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a Lean deployment plan which will provide the required return on investment through waste elimination, costs reduction, and improved operational efficiencies.
- Manage the implementation of Operational Excellence program in all KZN operations.
- Ensure alignment between Operational Excellence initiatives with the BU/accounts strategies.
- Develop business units’ internal problem-solving capacity through training and coaching of problem-solving methodologies, Kaizens, and Kaizen events.
- Ensure that Lean foundational practices are entrenched in all areas of responsibilities.
- Actively participate in the development of Lean Practitioners within own area of responsibility.
- Act as a Change Agent, facilitate the adoption of the operational excellence culture, identify and remove barriers to success.
- Assess the progress on the OE program and provide feedback to the leadership of the area of responsibility.
- Assist colleagues in the area of responsibility with measuring, tracking, and reporting of the financial benefits from improvement projects.
- Investigate and identify opportunities for improvement.
- As an OE Champion, expand the use of operational excellence methodologies and structured problem-solving approaches in the business.
Requirements:
The minimum levels of work, experience, and qualifications required for this role are:
- Bachelor Degree in Industrial Engineering or Supply Chain Management
- 2 years experience in operations preferably in a Supply Chain environment.
- 3 years experience in implementing OE programs.
- Basic business acumen.
