- Review and analyse existing quality assurance process effectiveness and efficiency, and then develop strategies for improving or leveraging these processes.
- Analyse documentation and technical specifications of any new application under deployment or consideration to determine its intended functionality.
- Create and execute test plans and scripts that will determine optimal application performance according to specifications.
- Ensure that testing activities allow applications to meet business requirements and systems goals, fulfil end-user requirements, and identify existing or potential issues.
- Collaborate with development teams in application testing, such as system, unit, regression, load, and acceptance testing methods.
- Make recommendations for improvement of applications to solution designers, application developers, application integration developers and application support specialists when applicable.
- Communicate test progress, test results, and other relevant information to project stakeholders and management.
- Test any new software to ensure integration into company systems meets functional requirements, system compliance, and technical specifications.
- Analyse formal test results in order to discover and report any defects, bugs, errors, configuration issues, and interoperability flaws.
- Assist in the development of change control processes, practices, and guidelines for new and existing technologies.
- Identify and learn appropriate software applications used and supported by the organization.
- Compile progress and status reports as required.
- Research and make recommendations on software products and services in support of quality assurance efforts.
- Contribute to the delivery of solutions in support of the strategic IT objectives and deliverables defined in the annual business plan.
- Conclude performance contracts on an annual basis, participate in quarterly reviews of performance and define training and improvement plans as necessary.
- Engage with team management on an ongoing basis to elicit timeous and proactive interventions to remedy adverse conditions preventing the successful delivery of agreed deliverables.
Minimum Required Qualification:
- Diploma / BTech Information Technology or Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field.
- Appropriate application (MS Dynamics 365 ERP, Mobile) and best-practice/professional certification e.g. ISTQB.
Minimum Required Experience:
- 5-7 years of IT application support and work experience, of which a minimum of 5 years involved direct and solid experience in the software testing across ERP (SAP) and/or Mobile (iOS and/or Android).
- Comply with quality assurance policies, procedures, and standards including relevant best practices.
- Participate in both internal and external audits of the quality assurance practice and provide input to mitigate risks as identified in the audit reports.
- Extensive experience and knowledge of core ERP applications (MS Dynamics 365) and mobile solutions (iOS and/or Android) architectures, platforms, development, deployment and support methodologies.
- Proven experience with troubleshooting principles, methodologies, and issue resolution techniques including the compilation of root cause analysis (RCA) reports.
- Able to develop and interpret technical documentation for training and end user procedures.
- Direct, hands-on experience with automated software and system management tools (OpenText QC).
- Strong knowledge of system and software quality assurance best practices, methodologies and tools.
