Role & its purpose:
This role is crucial to our client's mission of delivering customer-focused, commercially viable results and managing key client and partner relationships in-line with their strategic goals. The Managing Director will develop sales and marketing strategies to ensure the growth of the company’s client base in South Africa and in the Middle East Africa regions. The position requires a strategic approach to managing logistics and delivery processes for unparalleled efficiency, while championing a high-performance culture by nurturing and leading a team. Additionally, it involves cultivating influential relationships with key customers and stakeholders, fostering dynamic collaborations that propel the business forward.
In this senior role, you will oversee and steer service agreements and strategic partnerships, driving new business development initiatives within the industry. Your expertise in analysing competitive market trends will fuel innovative product ideas and integrated solutions. You will be adept at managing both strategic and operational aspects of customer relationships, focusing on enhancing customer engagement.
Your responsibilities will include managing budgeting processes at a group level, ensuring financial oversight aligns with company objectives. With a deep understanding of business development principles, you will lead a business unit and teams of commercial, business development, and sales professionals. Your leadership will extend to driving team performance through effective coaching and mentoring, fostering career growth, and achieving strategic goals.
In addition to the above, you will possess the below:
- Possession of Engineering degree preferable or Business Management / Commerce
- Significant experience managing sales, marketing and distribution teams
- Desirable additional education, training and work experience
- Previous experience in the sales and marketing of industrial valves, pumps in mining, water or similar industries would be an advantage;
- A track record of driving and delivering sales performances in tough trading environments;
- Experience in developing strong corporate and product brands; and
- Self-Motivated, driven and enthusiastic approach.
