Key Performance Area:
Brand & Marketing Strategy & Execution:
- Develop and implement a compelling brand strategy that resonates with target audiences and aligns with the company’s vision and values.
- Oversee brand positioning, messaging, and identity across all customer touchpoints.
- Ensure brand consistency in all communications and marketing materials.
- Monitor brand perception and take corrective actions as necessary to maintain a positive brand image.
- Lead the creation of a comprehensive marketing strategy, including digital, content, social media, and traditional marketing channels.
- Drive customer acquisition, retention, and engagement through targeted marketing campaigns.
- Analyze market trends, customer insights, and competitive activities to refine marketing strategies.
- Manage the marketing budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources to maximize ROI.
Event Management:
- Oversight of the planning & implementation of Group events together with the events team and business stakeholders.
- Inclusive of internal and external events such as client golf days, thought leadership annual showcase roadshow, conferencing across Africa, incentive tours and a host of internal events such as leadership summits. Also encompasses presence at industry events and expos.
- Events vendor coordination and management.
Public Relations & Corporate Communications:
- Develop and execute a proactive PR strategy to enhance the company’s visibility and reputation in the market.
- Build and maintain relationships with key media, industry influencers, and other stakeholders.
- Oversee internal communications to ensure alignment and engagement among employees.
- Lead and inspire a team of marketing, brand, and PR professionals.
Leadership & Team Management:
- Foster a collaborative and innovative team culture focused on achieving business goals.
- Provide mentorship and professional development opportunities to team members.
- Set clear objectives and performance metrics for the team, regularly reviewing progress and providing feedback.
- Collaborate closely with senior management, sales, product development, and other departments to align brand, marketing, and PR strategies with business goals.
- Understanding of in-source agency models.
- Integration of in-source agency personnel within marketing & brand team.
Stakeholder Management:
- Present regular reports and updates to the executive team on the effectiveness of brand, marketing, and PR initiatives.
- Plan, execute and monitor marketing campaigns across various channels to achieve business objectives.
- Management of marketing, advertising, media and PR agencies and vendors.
Campaign Management and Delivery:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful delivery of marketing campaigns.
- Analyze campaign performance and implement improvements to maximize ROI.
- Identify, evaluate and manage partnerships and opportunities that align with the company’s brand and marketing objectives.
- An understanding of South African and African media landscape. Strategic development and implementation of media campaigns.
Sponsorship Management:
- Negotiate sponsorship agreements and ensure effective activation and measurement of sponsorship activities.
- Develop, implement and execute sponsorship strategies & plans that enhance the company’s reputation. Inclusive of relevant activations and promotions to amplify the sponsorship opportunity.
Reputation Management:
- Monitor public perception and address any issues that could negatively impact the company’s reputation.
- Work with senior leadership to ensure the company’s actions align with its values and brand promise.
- Develop and promote sustainable marketing practices that align with corporate impact goals.
Sustainability & Ethical Marketing:
- Ensure marketing practices adhere to ethical standards and enhance the company’s social impact.
- Communicate the company’s commitment to sustainability and ethical practices to stakeholders.
Experience Required:
- Extensive experience in a senior operations role within the financial services industry – 15 – 20 years.
- Strong understanding of financial markets, products, and regulatory environments – 15 – 20 years.
- Proven track record of leading and managing large, complex operational teams – 15 – 20 years.
