The above-mentioned position exists in SSPPED, reporting to the Production Engineering Manager. The successful incumbent will fulfil the necessary requirements within PEPD to oversee the planning, execution, and completion of our building expansion project in Plastics Plant.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:
- Project planning & management – project leader, cost estimate input for budget approval, budget tracking & control & make detail schedules to meet project milestones.
- Equipment procurement – create basic equipment specification and scope of work for both local & import procured facilities, lead design review.
- Installation preparation – equipment buy-off at supplier and installation preparation including making plant layout.
- Installation /Commissioning – lead installation team, equipment installation, trials, and quality improvements
- Handover – compile data from production trials & co-ordinate handover with all related divisions.
- Safety – ensuring equipment compliance to TMS/MMS & company SHE standards from design to installation stage.
- Project management – Oversee the entire building expansion project from start to finish.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- NQF 6 Qualification in Engineering (minimum 360 credits).
- Must have 5 years Project management experience in automotive manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 & 14001 is advantageous.
- Relevant Engineering & Quality experience in Press/Suspension/Plastics Environment.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage external contractors.
- Good working knowledge of production systems essential (ECI’s, SMS & SMS-BR).
- High level of computer literacy is needed for this position. (Excel, Word, Auto Cad, DraftSight, Catia).
