The IT Technician provides technical support and troubleshooting services to the organisations end-users for hardware, software, and network-related issues.
Responsibilities:
- Provide first and second-level support for hardware, software, and network issues.
- Respond to and resolve user incidents and service requests in a timely manner.
- Escalate unresolved issues to higher-level support or vendors as necessary.
- Assist in the installation, configuration, and updating of IT hardware and software.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as backups, updates, and patches.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
- Support the IT team in maintaining network infrastructure, including switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless systems.
- Assist in network configuration and troubleshooting connectivity issues.
- Provide basic training to end-users on IT systems and applications.
- Create and maintain documentation for IT processes, systems, and troubleshooting guides.
- Track and manage IT inventory, including hardware, software licenses, and other assets.
- Ensure that all IT assets are accounted for and in working order.
- Assist in implementing and maintaining IT security measures.
- Monitor systems for security breaches and vulnerabilities.
Essential Requirements:
- Diploma or degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- A+, N+, MSCE, Google, Oracle and any relevant IT Certification.
- 2+ years of experience in IT support or a similar role.
- Hands-on experience with PC setup, configuration, and troubleshooting.
- Experience with network troubleshooting and basic network administration.
- Proficiency in Windows and macOS operating systems.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and common business applications.
- Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate or equivalent.
