Cedar Recruitment are delighted to be supporting a leading Engineering organisation in recruiting for a experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor. The role is permanent and will be working within the Commercial Team, predominantly on a large scale rail infrastructure project with the view to pick up smaller framework projects along the way.You will be ensuring that projects are running in accordance to the budgeted forecast, and to maximise profit through cost control and the optimisation of variations to the Works. You MUST be able to get on site 3 days per week, in West London.Key Responsibilities:Work with and support the Project Manager(s) on a daily basis, to ensure projects are meeting commercial and financial targetsBuild strong and collaborative relationships with your client and supplier counterpartsContribute to regular and accurate reporting to the Commercial Manager on/for: PHR/CVR/Cash Flow/Weekly Updates etcCarry out valuations for the purpose of initial, interim and final payment applicationsManage project sub-contractor and supplier accounts in line with the agreed subcontracts and to align with any upstream contractual requirementsIdentify, notify, value and agree change (variations, compensation events, claims)Ensure the Works are managed in accordance with the terms of the contract and any conditions precedent therein, not least regarding the times for giving notices and making applicationsEnsure that all contemporary records are kept by the project team members for use in supporting claims, extensions of time, and the evaluation of variationsSupport any tender processes as requireIdentify project risks and develop and implement mitigation strategies to minimise the commercial effect of said riskIdentify project and business opportunities and develop the necessary strategy to realise said opportunitiesLiaise with the Company's Procurement team, as necessary for the engagement of subcontractorsLiaise with the Company's Tendering and Estimating team for project hand over for opportunities secured, and support in opportunities currently bid.
