A well-known supplier of food ingredients supplying the food manufacturing and meat processing industry requires the above to drive and oversee all commercial aspects and technical troubleshooting on a variety of products into the meat and bakery and related markets.
Minimum Requirements For The Role
- A Bachelor degree in food science / food technology, Microbiology, Biotechnology or related is essential for this role.
- Previous experience having worked within the food industry will be advantageous, but will consider graduates with no experience.
- The successful candidate must be willing to work with non-Kosher, non-Halaal and pork products.
- Must be fully bilingual in Afrikaans and English both verbal and written.
The Successful Candidate Will Be Responsible For - Conducting product application trials on new products.
- Developing new products and new markets.
- Providing training to customers on products and product applications.
- Conducting on-site testing and evaluation of products as required by clients.
- Developing new products for butchers and large factories in the interests of gaining market share.
- Liaising with customers along with Senior Food Technologists.
- Providing technical advisory services to butchers including consulting on product quality.
- Evaluating production capacities and efficiencies.
- Implementing quality control/assurance systems in order to increase production output and shelf life of products.
- Researching potential new markets for new business.
- Analysing and reporting on sales leads linked to clients.
