We are seeking a motivated and skilled Inbound Wholesale Consultant to join our dynamic team. This role is crucial for managing relationships with our wholesale partners and ensuring seamless communication and service delivery for inbound travel bookings.
Responsibilities:
- Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with wholesale partners and travel agents to drive inbound travel bookings.
- Booking Management: Handle and process inbound wholesale travel bookings, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
- Provide general and specific advice about different travel destinations.
- Receive requests from agents and clients and provide quick and professional responses to all inquiries, preparing quotes, evaluating options, presenting itineraries, issuing invoices, and obtaining feedback.
- Draw up complicated and creative travel itineraries and ensure that all the needs of the customers are met.
- Tour administration and reservations include booking suppliers, logging all tailor-made groups, obtaining and approving all pro-forma invoices before being passed to accounts.
- Inform agents of supplier deadlines and alternate arrangements when needed, and research private guided tours.
- Advise customers about travel issues, including required documentation and financial matters, such as appropriate exchange rates.
- Deal with payments.
- Make alternative arrangements for customers who have had their trips interrupted by unforeseen issues.
- Respond to all calls quickly, professionally, and courteously.
- Ensure to complete all return calls/emails every day.
- Secure business and cost products.
- Build up and maintain agent/supplier relationships.
- Source & sell alternative services.
- Successfully run groups/tour series/FIT bookings.
- Prepare welcome packs (vouchers/itineraries etc.).
- Handle the 24hr emergency phone.
- Reconcile supplier invoices for processing.
- Reconcile tour guide expense sheets and check guide salaries.
- Assist in answering complaints.
- Management of clients and agent relationships is key to this position.
Requirements:
- Must be a senior consultant with at least 5 years’ experience in tourism.
- Must have superior knowledge of South Africa (both geographical and product).
- Experience in selling FIT packages.
- Excellent knowledge of destinations in Southern Africa.
- Experience with reservations (Tour Operator Background).
- Tourplan knowledge would be an advantage.
- Good knowledge of MS Office applications.
- Highly organized and excellent attention to detail.
- A demonstrable interest in travel.
- Sound knowledge of Southern Africa and key product offerings.
- A competent grasp of geography.
- Must be able to tailor make itineraries.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and customer service skills.
- Good time management skills and enthusiasm.
- Ability to work well as part of a team.
- The ability to cope under pressure.
