Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Public Relations Specialist to join our dynamic team at BYD South Africa. As a key player in our expansion efforts, you will be responsible for enhancing BYD's brand image through effective media relations, crisis communication management, and strategic marketing initiatives in the South African market. This role demands a proactive individual with a strong understanding of the local media landscape and a passion for contributing to the success of a global leading technology company.
Duties:
- Media Environment Research and Relationship Management:
- Conduct in-depth research on the local media landscape in South Africa.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key media outlets, journalists, and influencers.
- Develop and implement strategies to enhance BYD's positive presence in the media.
- External PR Messaging Support:
- Provide crucial support in crafting effective external PR messaging for various channels.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure consistency and alignment with BYD's brand image.
- Act as a spokesperson for the company, representing BYD in external communications.
- Crisis Communication and Reputation Management:
- Proactively monitor and manage public sentiment through effective crisis communication strategies.
- Develop and implement measures to safeguard and enhance BYD's reputation in the South African market.
- Marketing Activity Planning and Execution:
- Devise comprehensive plans for various marketing activities in South Africa and surrounding markets.
- Execute and oversee the implementation of marketing strategies to promote BYD's products and initiatives.
- Monitor and analyze the effectiveness of marketing campaigns, providing timely reports.
- Responsible for copywriting of all marketing-related materials.
- Dealer Marketing Support:
- Track and support real-time dealer marketing initiatives, ensuring alignment with brand guidelines.
- Provide necessary materials and support for dealer promotions and events.
- Collaboration with Domestic Brand and Marketing Teams:
- Work closely with the domestic brand and marketing teams to localize and implement global strategies in the South African market.
- Ensure seamless coordination and execution of brand and marketing activities.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in public relations, preferably in the automotive or technology industry.
- Strong knowledge of the South African media landscape and public relations practices.
