The Secure Driver Grade A/B will provide safe and timely protection and transportation services to the client daily and assist with office administration where required. Transport the client personnel to and from destinations in a comfortable, safe, and efficient manner. Function as a driver within a team of security personnel responsible for the transportation of passengers under conditions and circumstances of daily security threats.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Function as a driver within a team of security personnel responsible for the transportation of personnel as per schedules.
- Transport staff members to various destinations as required, within the boundaries of Control Risks (CR) Security Policies and Planning of routes, always ensuring the safety of passengers.
- Maintain a close liaison with the Control Risks Security Manager (SM) and ensure a detailed knowledge of the safest routes.
- Ensure that the assigned vehicle is fully operational and well-maintained, including inventory of all necessary communication and emergency equipment readily available and tightly secured in their assigned vehicles.
- Maintain vehicle logbooks for daily trips and keep records of mileage and fuel consumption of each vehicle.
- Ensure that the assigned vehicles are maintained regularly in accordance with service records and when required.
- Conduct daily checks on all assigned vehicles and report any defects to the SM for immediate repairs and maintenance.
- Ability to carry out minor mechanical emergency repairs on vehicles as required.
- Maintain close communication with the SM during all movements.
- Assist the SM in accomplishing effective protective security coverage for their assigned employee and remain vigilant and alert at all times whilst on duty.
- Ensure that the vehicle is not left unattended while on task and conduct a 360-degree vehicle sweep before and after any movement.
- Keep abreast of tactical operational procedures, emergency and contingency planning of CR procedures for road movements and participate during team training.
- Ensure readiness for rapid deployment at any time.
- Execute operational procedures and practices dependent on operational environment and observe all national traffic rules and act in accordance with CR rules regarding vehicle operation and traffic safety.
- Assist the SM in the execution of their duties as required.
- Assist with standard Driver duties as required.
- Perform any other tasks as required by the SM.
- Demonstrate competent driving skills under normal and high-stress circumstances.
Requirements:
- Possess a current driver’s license.
- Have accredited advanced driver training (Defensive driving).
- Psira Grade A or B.
- Police clearance certificate.
- High level of concentration and attention.
- Accurate observation skills.
- Capable of writing clear and concise reports.
- Experienced in route reconnaissance and planning.
- Trained in the use of physical methods of control and restraint.
- Experienced in basic communications and radio use/procedures.
- Possess English language proficiency.
- Ability to perform a variety of repetitive and routine tasks and duties.
- Demonstrate excellent knowledge of driving rules and regulations.
- Demonstrate excellent knowledge of protocol for Drivers.
- Demonstrate excellent knowledge of security issues for Drivers.
- Proficient in all areas of physical security and secure driver services.
