Primary Objective of Position
This role entails technical accounting and financial reporting within the Backoffice finance team. The position acts as a finance business partner and support to commercial divisions within the business.
This role is based in our Roodepoort Office.
Responsibilities:
- Monthly financial reporting and journal posting.
- Balance sheet reconciliations.
- Monthly calculations and postings for inventory and debtors.
- Preparation and submission of sales and cost of sales.
- Reporting of Bad Debt Reserves.
- Preparation and submission of SPOC i.e. Accounting for Spare Parts , preparing the movement schedule/tie-out for incoming and outgoing stock at the end of the month and reconciling the closing balance per the tie-out to the General Ledgers and associated reconciliations.
- Open new customer accounts and credit vetting in accordance with Abbott policies.
- Monitoring of Held Orders.
- Assist with audit queries and general query resolution.
- Support senior accountant with general finance functions.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERTISE:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in accounting OR related field.
Experience:
Minimum of 4 years’ experience within a similar role.
Debtors experience is essential.
Advanced Excel experience is essential.
Proactive individual with a drive to deliver results.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work with various personalities.
Must be able to work with standard desktop software i.e. MS Office.
