Our client, a major player in the manufacturing industry, is seeking a dynamic legal professional to manage a diverse legal team and provide strategic direction across multiple jurisdictions. This is a high-impact role for someone with extensive experience in legal management within a listed company environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage diverse legal teams across various jurisdictions.
- Align legal strategy with organisational goals.
- Oversee the operational management of all legal services.
- Strengthen relationships with both internal stakeholders and external legal advisors, both local and cross-border.
- Implement and maintain legal standards, reporting any legal and ethical breaches.
- Conduct research and develop legal frameworks, analysing trends that may impact the business.
- Ensure labour legislation compliance both locally and across borders.
- Lead business improvement initiatives around ethics and corporate governance.
- Build a strong and cohesive team by recruiting top talent and fostering an inclusive work environment.
- Promote high-performance culture through employee engagement and performance management.
- Mentor and develop the legal team.
Qualifications & Experience:
- LLB/LLM Degree (MBA is advantageous).
- Admitted Attorney/Advocate.
- 10-15 years of experience in a similar senior legal role.
- At least 10 years of experience managing legal teams in a listed company.
- Extensive experience in corporate commercial & M&A matters.
- Strong knowledge of corporate, competition, contract, environmental, mining, and labour law.
- Solid regulatory compliance experience in multinational companies.
- Proven track record in legal risk management, project management, and establishing formal legal policies and procedures.
- Demonstrated leadership and management skills.
