Job DescriptionWe are partnering with a Freight Forwarding organization in search of an experienced Import LCL Clerk to join their team based in Essex.
This role is essential for managing Less-than-Container Load (LCL) import shipments for both airfreight and seafreight, ensuring smooth operations and high customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Handle all aspects of LCL Import shipments, including both airfreight and seafreight operations, ensuring accurate and timely processing.
- Communicate effectively with customers and suppliers to coordinate shipment details, resolve any issues, and ensure a seamless process.
- Raise invoices and internal files, process supplier invoices, and maintain accurate financial records for each shipment.
- Work with shipping lines, hauliers, and depots to arrange collections and deliveries, ensuring smooth logistical execution.
- Ensure all customer deadlines are met and follow up after deliveries to confirm customer satisfaction.
- Maintain organized documentation and ensure that all shipments are processed in line with company and customer requirements.
Required Skills & Experience:
- 2-3 years of experience working for a freight forwarder, with a focus on LCL import shipments.
- Experience using CNS, Destin8, or Multi-freight systems.
- A strong eye for detail to manage shipments and documentation accurately.
- Airfreight & Seafreight Expertise: Solid experience handling both airfreight and seafreight operations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to manage interactions with customers, suppliers, and internal teams.
- Competency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel for effective data management and communication.
