We are inviting applications for the position of Senior Secretariat & Project Coordinator Credit & Debt Review in our Market Conduct Division. The successful candidate must meet the requirements as specified below.
Responsibilities:
- Credit and Debt Review Secretariat Duties:
- Assist in enabling organisation to be the 'Voice of the Industry' of the banking sector through formulation of positions on critical regulatory and supervisory issues;
- Distribute regulations (for Credit/Debt Review) that require comments/engagement;
- Collect and collate members' comments for review by committee members and submission to stakeholders;
- Assist with the review of new and existing legislation;
- Set up meetings with high-profile stakeholders, including the executive board, board members, directors from other institutions, registrars, and industry leaders;
- Assist with the organisation of workshops, webinars, and training as required;
- Facilitate committees, sub-committees, task groups, and workgroups for discussing and reaching a banking sector and credit industry view.
- Project Co-ordinator for Credit and Debt Review:
- Assist the Project/Programme Manager with the implementation of identified projects, track project progress and deliverables;
- Assist with implementing the agreed company strategy;
- Drive initiatives affecting the banking sector and the Credit and Debt Review frameworks;
- Assist with Debt Review Systems, including running, checking, and verifying exceptions for monthly data submitted by member banks;
- Distribute consolidated BASA monthly Debt Review data to member banks;
- Drive projects efficiently and effectively by adhering to defined performance objectives and agreed processes;
- Facilitate all Debt Counselling Rules System (DCRS) project meetings and ensure that all changes and progress are recorded.
- Organisational Support:
- Participate in, create, and promote a collaborative, learning, and performance-oriented culture;
- Assist member banks with IT-related issues, particularly SharePoint access;
- Collaborate with cross-functional, cross-divisional teams, and fellow team members.
Technical Skill Set:
- Familiarity with Debt Review systems, National Credit Regulator Circulars, and Guidelines;
- Ability to review monthly data reports and validate output generated by consolidation systems;
- Experience in representing organizations in committees and industry-related events;
- Experience in managing committees and ensuring engagement at necessary levels;
- Strong understanding of regulatory and legal issues in the banking and finance industry.

Qualifications and Experience:
- Project Co-ordinator certification would be advantageous;
- Minimum of 6 to 8 years of secretariat functions;
- Minimum of 6 to 8 years of IT Project coordination;
- Minimum of 6 to 8 years from a SDLC perspective including functional requirements, user acceptance testing, regression testing, training, support, and problem investigations;
- Experience in Finance, Market Conduct, Credit, or Debt Review fields, including exposure to the National Credit Act, 34 of 2005;
- Experience in data verification systems and validations in terms of monthly data submissions.
Experience in the field is compulsory.
