Overview of Role:The core objective for the appointed Utilities Project Manager would be to manage a series of utilities protection works, temporary utility connections and permanent utilities diversions, from inception to completion and to ensure individual projects can be delivered in line with prevailing time and cost constraints. The Utilities Project Manager will be the first point of contact for all project associated utility works and will be required to develop and maintain a strong relationship with the various utility companies and stakeholders.Responsibilities:Management and coordination of all utility works within appointed projectsEstablish and implement utility works programme to meet project milestones in a cost-effective manner to mitigate identified risksProvide strategic direction on all utility works through the design, planning and delivery of infrastructure projectsLiaison with key external stakeholders and develop working relationships with utility companiesChair regular meetings with utility companies and key stakeholders to monitor the progress of the project(s) and work that needs to be completedReport programme progress and obtain commercial/project approvals as requiredDevelop and maintain effective channels of communication enabling rapid articulation of the impacts of changes to scope and aid the delivery teams in providing mitigationIdentify risks and opportunities associated with utility works on appointed projectsSupport the wider business on new business opportunities and tender submissionsRepresent the company to major customers and professional associationsBuild and maintain an effective teamClosely monitoring the financial results of the team / project against plans and budgetsFormulate and successfully implement company policies as requiredCommunicate and ensure compliance of company policiesEnsure that the operating objectives and standards of performance are maintained in the ProjectEstablish project requirements and ensure correct level and competence of resource required to deliverRequirements:Minimum of 5 year’s relevant utilities experience.Proven utility industry background having knowledge and understanding of utility companies processes and business driversDemonstrable track record of managing utility works within large construction programmesA qualification in civil engineering, project management or equivalentKnowledge of UK Rail and / or UK Highways industriesProven ability to build and maintain excellent collaborative, working relationships and effective channels of communication within a project environmentExperience of working within multi-discipline project teamsGood knowledge of Health & Safety, Environmental and Technical issues pertaining to the company’s services and to current legislationGood understanding of project design, construction and delivery interfacesDemonstrate a level of leadership, such that junior members of the team can be provided support, direction, and mentorshipMember of a relevant professional bodyCSCS card holder.Eligible to work in the UKBenefits:Competitive salary (Salary dependant on experience level) Pension scheme25 days holiday + option to buy/sell 4 days.
