Customer Technical Manager / Fresh Produce / Herts

Are you passionate about food safety, quality, and sustainability? We are recruiting a Customer Technical Manager to provide dedicated technical service to both internal and external customers, ensuring product quality and compliance with customer standards. You will play a key role in managing relationships with M&S, Ocado, and other customers while supporting the business with technical innovation and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage customer technical development to drive growth and competitive advantage.
- Ensure product safety, legality, and quality to protect the business and customer requirements.
- Lead innovation, quality improvement projects, and new product development (NPD).
- Be the main point of contact for customer teams, hosting visits to Flamingo and supplier sites.
- Maintain accurate customer specifications and communicate technical policies to internal teams and suppliers.
- Support the technical agenda in line with Flamingo's business objectives.
- Use data to monitor performance and ensure the business is meeting "fit to supply" standards.
- Optimise systems and processes to create a more efficient, cost-effective business.
Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience in managing product quality, food safety, and compliance.
- Experience in a customer-facing role, preferably in produce or prepared produce.
- Strong project management skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
- Formal qualification in food science or agronomy preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
