Key Performance Areas would include, but are not limited to:
- Efficiently operate the Copper Pot Stills on a 12-hour shift basis
- Continuously monitor and manage the distillation processes
- Organoleptic evaluation of distillate on a continuous basis to ensure quality product
- Ensure strict loss control on the distillation processes
- Clean, repair and do maintenance on stills and equipment in the stillhouse
- Ensure accurate record keeping of required documentation
- Ensure compliance with OHSAct standards
- Drawing and testing of production tank samples
- Participate in TPM activities (Continuous Improvement)
- Participate in effective problem solving
- Ad hoc duties as and when required
The successful candidate must have the following attributes, qualifications, skills, and experience:
- Grade 12 or equivalent preferably with mathematics & science
- A relevant tertiary level qualification will be advantageous
- A minimum of 3 years general Cellar experience
- Ability to work effectively under pressure with minimal supervision
- Accuracy and attention to detail orientated
- Excellent Health
- Ability and willingness to conduct sensory evaluations
- Computer literacy (MS Office)
- Relevant experience in a distillation environment would be highly advantageous
- Willingness to work irregular hours on a shift basis (evenings and weekends included)
- Own or access to reliable transport
- Punctuality and attendance reliability
