Operations Manager Retail
Key Performance Areas (KPA):
- Facilitate the overall success of the company's Manufacturing Production operations.
- Ensure ISO Compliance.
- Oversee Human Resources processes.
- Effectively supervise Fleet Management.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Planning and Scheduling of Production:
- Assist with demand forecasting for orders and raw material requisitions.
- Ensure daily production goals are achieved.
- Conduct weekly meetings with Production, Quality, and Lab teams to ensure smooth operations and address concerns.
- Ensure that the dispatch and receiving supervisor:
- Monitors each vehicle for correct usage, compliance with rules and laws, and follows predetermined routes.
- Plans and schedules services, addressing unscheduled breakdowns, mechanical failures, and accident damage.
- Expedites insurance claims.
- Handles license renewals of vehicles.
- Monitors the validity of all licenses and permits.
Administration:
- Submit monthly reports on production performance and report completion.
- Address stock issues and perform stock adjustments.
- Purchase consumables and diesel.
- Administer quarterly stock takes and prevent stock losses.
HR Activities:
- Conduct hearings, CCMA hearings, disciplinary counseling, record keeping, and performance reviews.
ISO 9001:2015 Compliance:
- Maintain correct procedures in accordance with ISO 9001:2015 requirements.
- Assist the Business Development Manager with documentation related to ISO 9001:2015 requirements.
- Maintain traceability in production processes as per ISO 9001:2015 requirements.
- Create reports for all complaints and non-conformance incidents at the factory.
Safety, Health, and Environmental Management:
- Manage health and safety certifications (ISO:45001).
- Complete reports for all safety incidents.
Education:
Matric + Tertiary 3 years National Diploma/Degree (completed) in Operations Management.
Experience:
At least 3 years experience in a chemical production, analysis, and management environment.
Behavioural Skills:
- Analytical mindset.
- Well organized.
Occupational Skills:
- Managing logistics around production and distribution.
- Planning and scheduling.
- Reading and interpreting batch sheets.
- Setting and monitoring targets and KPIs.
- Managing a health, environment, and safety program.
- Computer literate (excellent Excel skills), analytical skills.
Additional Requirements:
- Living in Pietermaritzburg.
- Own car/unendorsed driver's license.
- Clean credit and criminal records (will be checked).
