Duties
Our client is recruiting for a Payroll Administrator to work in their Cape Town Office H/Q. Duties include but are not limited to the following:
- Collaborate with our HR department to ensure all relevant payroll processing is loaded onto the payroll system.
- Process the Team Members' and Managers' payrolls within the required deadlines, ensuring that the required supporting documentation and approval are in place.
- Verify and process new employees (onboarding) done by our HR team.
- Modify existing employee information such as change/update of banking details and movements.
- Check and process all once-off changes e.g. pay-rate increases.
- Prepare all monthly payroll reports per the monthly checklist for submission and review to the payroll supervisor.
- Complete all UIF forms such as UI-19, Certificate of Service, Salary Schedule, and Maternity documents as may be required following payroll finalisation.
- Maintain payroll information through efficient record keeping and filing.
- Resolve queries and ensure ongoing compliance.
- Provide support to management to finalise account reconciliations for monthly submission.
- Assist management with generating payroll reports or with payroll information as needed.
- Assist with payroll-related tax and financial year-end procedures.
- Provide general administrative support and any other ad hoc duties relating to the administration of the payroll.
Experience/knowledge & skills
- Grade 12 or NQF 4 Certificate.
- At least 2 years experience as a Payroll Administrator or in a similar role.
- Working knowledge of SBCPP payroll software will be advantageous.
- A payroll Certificate and/or accounting exposure is advantageous.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel).
- Accurate data entry skills with great attention to detail and dedication to quality.
- Strong numeracy skills.
- Ability to maintain data integrity and strong reporting skills.
- Ability to manage all aspects of payroll in a timely and accurate manner.
- Sound understanding of human resources and labour rules and regulations.
Salary is dependent on the candidate's strengths and abilities.
