A leading private equity firm based in Sandton, Johannesburg is seeking a Fund Finance Manager to join their finance team and optimize the finance function for their private equity funds under management.
This role involves comprehensive financial management and administration of private equity partnerships, ensuring the efficiency and effectiveness of the finance function. The Fund Finance Manager will collaborate closely with the broader finance team, overseeing various finance and administration functions to support the growth and success of the private equity funds.
The role includes leadership responsibilities such as managing investor tax reporting, overseeing external fund administrators, and ensuring compliance with corporate governance requirements. The Fund Finance Manager will also be responsible for the financial aspects of portfolio transactions, project management of annual audits, and compliance with FAIS requirements.
Success in this role will be measured by the timely and accurate production of financial reports, effective management of investor relations, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.
Key qualifications and experience for the Fund Finance Manager:
- CA (SA) with 2-5 years post-articles experience
- Asset Management / Private Equity industry experience
- Practical Fund administration experience (NB)
- Commercially minded
- Knowledge of IFRS, SA tax, company secretarial, and private equity administration
Key duties for the Fund Finance Manager include but are not limited to:
- Financial management and administration of private equity partnerships
- Develop and implement best practices for Private Equity Fund Management and Administration
- Coordinate and manage investor tax reporting with assistance from external professionals
- Oversee the financial management of fund portfolio transactions
- Ensure smooth corporate governance practices, including board meetings and minutes
- Oversee external fund administrators and quarterly fund management accounts
- Control and monitor the bookkeeping process
- Plan and manage annual audits
- Project manage compliance with FAIS requirements and ongoing reporting
- Manage ad hoc finance and admin projects across the group
