Duties & Responsibilities
Purpose of the Role:
This position is responsible for overseeing the marketing duties of the business's regional sales, promotions, collections, and other activities to achieve sales targets. Coordinate with the sales team to plan promotional activities, trade shows, and special events. Develop creative sales techniques and tactics to meet business goals and prepare sales contracts, proposals, and reports for management and customers.

EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS
Essential requirements:
Grade 12/NQF level #4 or equivalent
Bachelor's Degree (Marketing, Sales, or Business Administration)
Requirements:
3 years’ experience in a Sales Management position with exposure in hospitality/service-related industries.
SALES AND MARKETING
- Plan, develop, implement, and evaluate advertising/merchandise/trade promotions programs and develop field sales action plans as per relevant standard operating procedure.
- Perform any other task related to the sales and marketing tasks delegated by the relevant person that is related to the advancement of the business or execution of the vision, mission, strategy, or strategic goals of the business as per relevant standard operating procedure.
- Improve product marketability and profitability by performing market research, competitor analyses, identifying and capitalizing on new and existing market opportunities.
- Meet sales and marketing financial objectives by forecasting requirements; preparing an annual budget; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions as per relevant standard operating procedure.
- Establish sales objectives by forecasting and developing annual sales quotas for regions and territories; projecting expected sales volume and profit for existing and new products.
- Responsible for the overall coordination, functional management, and leadership of all new sales activities of the business as per relevant standard operating procedure.
- Perform any other tasks related to the furthering of the business interests and/or tasks/activities/duties delegated to you.
LEADERSHIP / SALES TEAMS - Manage and provide direction to sales teams to ensure organizational goals/targets are met.
- Conduct staff performance reviews and take corrective actions when required against employees who misconduct themselves or who are underperforming.
- Communicate with staff on a regular basis to discuss targets, deviations, performance, customer requirements/complaints/queries.
- Identify training gaps for all personnel and include them in the Workplace Skills plan and provide training and development in the budget.
STRATEGIC PLANNING - Responsible for the development and execution of regional, both long and short-term, action plans to achieve the sales targets and to expand the company’s customer base.
- Compile, monitor, and control all budgets and budget requirements relating to the division and provide strategic input into the organizational budget as per relevant standard operating procedure.
- Set strategic business goals and provide direction in line with business strategy and objectives.
FINANCE - Compile/monitor and control all budgets and budget requirements relating to the division and provide strategic input as per relevant standard operating procedure.
- Keep abreast of organizational changes such as economic/technology and implement strategies to manage these situations.
- Identify when targets regarding costs are not met, implement/develop solutions to be more cost-effective to the benefit of the company as per relevant standard operating procedure.
CUSTOMER SERVICES - Build and maintain positive relationships with clients/customers and ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.
- Follow up on clients/customers regarding outstanding payments, debt collection, or any type of discrepancies and provide feedback in a timely manner.
- Resolve customer complaints/queries effectively and develop/implement solutions as per relevant standard operating procedures.
ADMINISTRATION - Compile reports weekly, monthly, and annually to management as accounts, contacts, activities, leads, or opportunities with interactive views with custom filters, neatly arranged according to where in the sales process they currently stand.
- Analyze the administrative system requirements, develop and implement required systems as per legislative and company requirements.
- Review customer relationship management system, utilize data to ensure that sales staff is effectively engaging with clients, deal with queries and complaints where applicable, and analyze customer history with the company to better improve and maintain business relationships.
- Manage invoices/statements generated on a monthly basis and ensure legal perspectives are developed and implemented.
