You will be developing and maintaining relationships with customers in several industries, which means you need to be a focused, proactive self-starter, and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Additionally, you’re a service provider, as well as a customer advocate within Fawkes Thermal Manufacturing (Pty) LTD. You’ll use your skills to develop and close new business, grow existing business, rejuvenate business, and support your team with feedback, knowledge shared and other collaterals. Above all, you will be responsible for achieving your sales and customer satisfaction targets.
Duties & Responsibilities
1. PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
To co-ordinate and manage, on a day-to-day basis, customer accounts (orders, queries, quotes and deliveries) and ensure that objectives are adhered to and met. Be able to present our group and company as well as its solutions and services to prospects.

1.2. Detailed Responsibilities
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities through prospecting and cold calling
- Exceed the target set in terms of turnover
- Meet the targets set by Fawkes Thermal Manufacturing
- Manage all aspects and outcomes of the company’s customer activities
- Maintain customer accounts
- Drive customer service excellence in the assigned region
- Grow the existing levels of business from existing customers
- Promote/sell/secure orders from existing and prospective customers through a relationship-based approach
- Generate additional business through customer acquisition in line with the company’s objectives
- Acquire referrals and engage in networking activities
- Grow customer accounts in terms of order volume and frequency
- Manage customers from acquisition through maintenance and growth
- Seek opportunities to develop additional business through opportunity analysis
- Maintain and develop contact, follow-ups on networking opportunities
- Meet with alternate customer supplier representatives and arrange joint presentations
- Identify new pattern opportunities and rejuvenate commissioning of existing/unused patterns
1.3. Relationship Management
- Build and maintain relationships with customers at all levels within the customer company
- Make telephone calls and in-person visits and presentations to existing and prospective customers
1.4. Administration Activities
- Generate effective account status and visit reports
- Conduct weekly status meetings and/or feedback
- Draft and submit review documents for accounts
- Audit and quality control new orders
- Travel nationally when required
- Attend sales and production meetings
- Plan and organise personal sales strategy
- Compile contract/status reports
- Assist with any promotions and events
- Review and manage: Quotes, Orders and Project Tracking
1.5. Processes
- Facilitate and co-ordinate internal processes and procedures required to service customer accounts
- Fully understand the company’s systems and processes
1.6. Service and Customer Satisfaction
- Take full responsibility for sales and customer satisfaction within the assigned customer base
- Understand customer needs and requirements
- Proactively address customer’s needs
- Manage, co-ordinate, feedback and report on Customer Satisfaction Surveys
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Engineering degree is advantageous but not required
- Technical sales experience of no less than two years is required
- Own car required
