KEY PURPOSE OF JOB
The H&S Officer will be responsible for developing, implementing, and improving health and safety plans, programmes, and procedures in the workplace to ensure the health and safety of NSS employees.
EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE:
- More than 3 years of relevant work experience
- Good problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated good communication and people management skills
- Excellent report writing skills, with proficiency in written and spoken English
- Ability to coordinate, plan, and demonstrate time management skills
- Service excellence attitude
- Accurate record-keeping and good administration skills
- Ability to work without supervision
- Demonstrated teamwork and accountability
- Additional knowledge areas that would strengthen the application:
- Knowledge of satellite subsystems and the space environment
- Experience in cleanroom, ESD, and optical assembly environments

KEY TASKS:
- Develop, implement, and improve health and safety plans, programmes, and procedures in the workplace
- Ensure compliance with relevant health and safety legislation
- Document the Health and Safety Management system (policies, procedures, work instructions, and forms)
- Identify and schedule OHS-related training needs in the workplace
- Conduct safety inspections and risk assessments
- Determine and enforce preventative measures
- Investigate workplace accidents and incidents
- Report on OHS-related activities to Management
- Advise and instruct on various safety-related topics (noise levels, use of machinery)
- Ensure all buildings have the minimum equipment required by relevant OHS Acts
- Ensure compliance of emergency evacuations
- End-to-end accident/incident investigation and damage to property
- Manage and control CIOD incidences
- Mentor and manage health and safety team (and meetings)
- Ensure that extended reporting personnel follow relevant legislation and regulatory requirements
- Identify, promote, and gain support for improvements
- Other ad-hoc duties as required by the company
