A renowned construction company in Cape Town is seeking a skilled Bookkeeper to join their team of professionals. This position is responsible for assisting the Financial Manager by maintaining financial records.
Responsibilities:
- Understand and adhere to financial regulations and legislation.
- Cash Book / Bank Reconciliation (to Trial Balance).
- Assisting with the preparation of financial statements.
- Overseeing client accounts.
- Creating, sending and following up on invoices.
- Updating financial records.
- Collecting and reviewing data for reports.
- Reporting discrepancies.
Requirements:
- 3 to 5 years' Bookkeeping experience in a similar environment.
- In-depth knowledge of financial management and taxation guidelines.
- Ability to build relationships while asking tough questions.
- Excellent written and oral communication ability, English and Afrikaans.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated ability with Buildsmart.
- Advanced Computer literacy - Microsoft Outlook (PowerPoint / Excel / Word / Email).
- Prior experience in a Bookkeeping role in Construction or similar.
- Experience in working with a diverse range of people and positions.
