Responsibilities:
- Set and deliver on Production targets as well as Safety, occupational health and environment targets.
- Implement and maintain appropriate systems for health and safety of all employees and contractors on the operation.
- Fulfil legal requirements as described in the Mine Health and Safety Act and the Minerals Act and meet the demanding standards of Corporate Governance.
- Ensure the efficient operation of the operation, taking full responsibility for overall performance.
- Support Stakeholder engagement and other corporate governance matters.
- Support the Company’s strategy on Transformation and achievement of set EE targets.
- Maintain an appropriate level of professional competence at the operation.
- Implement and support the Vision and Values of the Company as well as corporate office strategies.
- Build a motivated and unified performance-driven team through participative leadership and management practices.
Effectively coordinate the efforts of the different disciplines and provide support so that HODs are enabled to achieve their goals.
Minimum Requirements:
- A Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering with Mine Manager’s Certificate, or
- Grade 12 and Mine Manager’s Certificate.
- At least 3 – 5 years rounded experience in hard rock mining environment with 2 – 3 years at Mine Manager level.
- Medical Certificate of Fitness.
- Fluency in both verbal and written English is essential.
- Computer Literacy.
- Code 8 drivers’ license.

Advantageous:
- Registered with ECSA as a Professional Engineer or Professional Certified Engineer.
