The role You will need a strong technical Availability, Reliability & Maintainability (AR&M) background, consulting skills, enthusiasm, and an ambitious and collaborative mindset to help us achieve our goals. The day-to-day role will range from “front of house” consulting, interfacing with customers on the planning and implementation of IPS/ILS strategies, to “backroom” support performing detailed analysis and modelling of system support solutions or producing compelling bids to showcase our expertise. The Support Engineering Team Our Support Engineering team understand the environment the customer works in and are delivery-focussed, helping to design robust support solutions to add value to our clients’ projects. You will primarily work from home with travel to client sites when needed. About you You’ll already be an AR&M specialist with a UK Defence Industry or MOD engineering background, along with an analytical mindset and have demonstrable strong delivery and client focus. We are specifically looking at developing the AR&M discipline of the Support Engineering team so you should already be well-versed in this skillset, along with a broad Supportability background. Your technical knowledge will most likely include: Extensive level of domain knowledge over the full range of the AR&M discipline and how it relates more broadly to IPS/ILS such as Supportability Analysis, Supply Support, etc Knowledge of MOD AR&M processes and standards (Def-Stan 00-040, 00-042, 00-045 etc.) and the associated IPS S-Series suite Experience of delivering AR&M in appropriate phases of the programme lifecycle Knowledge of the complete engineering lifecycle Understanding of AR&M domain metrics such as availability, failure rate, MTBF, MTTF Proven experience in reliability modelling techniques such as Fault Tree Analysis and Reliability Block Diagrams Experience of Reliability and dependability specifically with defence equipment Knowledge of AR&M theories such as Boolean algebra, Bayesian statistics, and Monte Carlo simulation processes In addition, we would expect to see: Experience of leading teams to deliver technical analysis Strong communication skills and the ability to interact with stakeholders Degree level qualification or equivalent in a STEM subject Current right to live and work in the UK Current SC clearance or willing & eligible to undergo a Security Clearance check* Happy to travel I don’t meet the criteria?
