We are working with one of the leading Kent based construction companies to manage the recruitment of a new Finance Assistant to be based within their Finance team in the Borough Green Head Office - the successful candidate will need to be within a commutable distance, either by car or train.You will be reporting to a highly experienced Finance Manager and manage a wide range of responsibilities, from providing day to day financial administrative support to ensuring the reporting is accurate and up to date, with suppliers and contractors all being paid on time.Day to day responsibilities:Ensure the workflow of all documentation through the purchase ledger process is carried out in line with company proceduresReceive purchase invoices & distribute for authorisationInputting purchase Invoices and staff expenses on to Sage 50 Accounts, ensuring fine attention to detail ensuring correct treatment of VAT / CIS taxMonthly supplier statement reconciliations – investigating any variances identifiedGuarantee a high quality of control and e-filing for all financial documentsCompany Pre-payment Card - input invoices and reconcile statement weeklyManage the Accounts Mailbox and resolve any Creditor’s queries via email or telephoneAged Creditor’s Report – regularly review – chasing any missing invoices/receiptsProcess weekly subcontractor runs / upload to SageOwnership of Subcontractor records and verifying new subcontractors on HMRCSubmit monthly HMRC CIS ReturnDistribute Monthly Project Cost Reports from Sage to Contract ManagersRegularly audit nominal codes, to ensure correct allocation has been appliedMaintain Asset Register, Depreciation AccountsAssist with sales ledger invoicing and payment run processing when requiredSupport Finance Manager as requiredKey skills required:Sage 50 userHighly attention to detail and delivers accurate workWorking Knowledge of CIS and Domestic Reverse charge preferred but not essentialConfident communicatorGood Microsoft Excel (formulas and pivot tables as a minimum)Good all round IT skills (MS office)
