Responsibilities:
- Building up a product/customer database per product under the portfolio.
- Building up knowledge about how products are traded on the international front as well as what outside elements affect the availability of these products.
- Identifying the opposition and acquiring in-depth knowledge about their company, product, source, and pricing, etc.
- Having regular contact with the company regarding samples, pricing, customer requests, tenders, and other day-to-day issues.
- Utilizing a collaborative and consensus approach by working with Sales and Procurement to obtain and ensure that current and accurate information is used for demand forecasts.
- Managing company and independent customers’ stock nationally (Transfer of stock from DBN to JHB when new stock arrives; bulk stock recon weekly to company).
- Managing stock holding and lead times with company clients during a product changeover phase to avoid excess stock and potential stock outs.
