Our client, a giant in the automotive industry is looking for a Technical IT Operations Manager to oversee the organization's IT operations and to ensure the efficient and secure performance of all IT systems and infrastructure.
Requirements - Matric
- Relevant Tertiary qualification advantageous
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT operations management
- Proven expertise in Nimble, Commvault, VMware, Panda, Palo Alto, and Barracuda
- Strong knowledge of IT security and compliance standards
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Project management experience, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Needs to be able to work under pressure
Key Responsibilities: IT Operations Management: - Oversee the day-to-day operations of the IT department, ensuring systems are running smoothly and efficiently.
- Manage and optimize IT infrastructure, including storage solutions (Nimble), backup and recovery systems (Commvault), virtualization platforms (VMware), and security solutions (Panda, Palo Alto, Barracuda).
- Ensure high availability, performance, and reliability of IT systems.
- Develop and implement strategies for infrastructure scaling and improvements.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to minimize downtime.
Security and Compliance: - Implement and maintain robust security measures to protect IT infrastructure.
- Monitor security alerts and respond to incidents promptly.
- Ensure IT operations comply with industry regulations, company policies, and security standards.
- Conduct regular security assessments and vulnerability testing.
Team Leadership: - Lead, mentor, and manage a team of IT professionals.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, learning, and development within the team.
- Allocate resources effectively to meet operational goals and project deadlines.
Project Management: - Plan and execute IT operations projects, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project delivery.
- Manage project budgets, timelines, and resources.
Vendor Management: - Manage relationships with vendors and service providers.
- Negotiate contracts and service level agreements (SLAs) to ensure optimal service delivery.
- Evaluate and select new technologies and solutions to enhance IT operations.
