Job Description: As a Mechanical Design Engineer specializing in Machinery Design, you will be responsible for developing innovative and efficient machinery solutions from concept through to production. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including project management, production, and quality assurance, to ensure that designs meet customer requirements, industry standards, and company goals.
Key Responsibilities: - Develop and design new machinery or modify existing machinery to meet specific customer needs and industry standards.
- Create detailed 3D models, assemblies, and drawings using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor).
- Perform engineering calculations and simulations to validate design concepts and ensure structural integrity, performance, and safety.
- Collaborate with project managers and production teams to ensure designs are manufacturable, cost-effective, and align with project timelines.
- Select appropriate materials and components for machinery designs, considering factors such as cost, durability, and availability.
- Conduct design reviews and work with cross-functional teams to refine designs and address any issues or challenges.
- Prepare and maintain comprehensive design documentation, including specifications, bills of materials (BOM), and technical drawings.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in mechanical design and machinery technology, and apply this knowledge to improve designs.
- Provide technical support during the manufacturing and assembly process, including troubleshooting and problem-solving as needed.
- Ensure all designs comply with relevant industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies.
Qualifications: - Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in mechanical design, specifically in machinery design or a closely related industry.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor) and FEA tools (e.g., ANSYS).
- Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, manufacturing processes, and materials science.
- Experience in designing complex machinery with moving parts, hydraulic or pneumatic systems, and structural components.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and creativity in design.
- Ability to produce detailed and accurate technical drawings and documentation.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
- Knowledge of industry standards and regulations related to machinery design.
