Our client is urgently looking for a Project Officer. The role is based in Gauteng. You will be required to travel to sites in different provinces (24-month contract).
Responsibilities
- Liaising with the Project Liaison Officer, compiling weekly reports on current projects.
- Ensuring that suppliers are maintained and that new suppliers are sourced, that these suppliers' rates fall within budget, scope, and timeframe of the project.
- Conducting reports on invoices and delivery notes and documenting both physically and digitally.
- Providing updates on projects to clients and the senior management team.
- Scheduling project meetings per project plan and/or need.
- Communicating with management on project-specific activities, including meeting summaries and action items.
- Maintaining and updating product and due diligence documentation.
- Maintaining continuous communications with management and senior management regarding project status.
- Ensuring due diligence requests are addressed with the most current and appropriate documentation.
- Meeting with SANDF and community to facilitate and ensure projects run smoothly.
- Coordinating with the Project Liaison Officer to ensure scope, budget, and timeframes (project baselines) are met.
- Performing all other duties assigned.
Key Performance Indicators
- Project Schedule Variance (SV): Measures the difference between the planned timeline and the actual timeline, indicating whether the project is on schedule.
- Cost Performance Index (CPI): Assesses cost efficiency by comparing the budgeted cost of work performed to the actual cost, helping to evaluate financial performance.
- Resource Utilization: Tracks how effectively project resources (like personnel and equipment) are being used, ensuring optimal allocation and productivity.
- Scope Changes: Monitors the number and impact of changes to the project scope, helping to manage scope creep and maintain project focus.
- Quality Metrics: Evaluates the quality of project deliverables against defined standards, ensuring that outcomes meet stakeholder expectations.
- Customer Satisfaction: Measures stakeholder satisfaction with project outcomes, which is crucial for assessing the project's overall success and alignment with client needs.
- Team Cohesion: Assesses the degree of collaboration and unity among project team members, which can impact project success and morale.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent.
- A bachelor's degree or diploma in Engineering (Civil and Structural) will be an added advantage.
- Courses and certifications can help advance your career.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in project coordination or a related position.
- Proven success in a corporate setting, working with all levels of management.
