PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
Responsible for the coordination of sales, stock and customer care to maintain profitability and growth targets.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE JOB:
- Coach and guide sales clerks in product knowledge and selling skills.
- Identify client needs.
- Attend and resolve client queries.
- Advise and inform clients on product ranges and offers.
- Consult with suppliers and product managers to determine price and product offering.
- Do sales forecasts and initiate orders.
- Obtain promotional material.
- Do merchandising.
- Run promotion.
- Provide support and advice during promotion.
- Perform stock forecasts.
- Order stock.
- Ensure the correct receipt of stock according to procedures and policy.
- Merchandise and pricing of stock.
- Ensure continuous stock taking.
- Maintain loss control procedures and principles.
- Analyze redundant stock reports and implement corrective measures.
- Liaise with suppliers regarding volumes, delivery terms and conditions.
- Ensure control of expiry dates on stock.
- Ensure that pesticide register is maintained.
- Management Staff According to Applicable Legislation.
- Inform Staff About Desired Outcomes in Terms of Goals and Objectives.
- Observe Performance and Provide Constructive Feedback Regularly.
- Develop Staff to Full Potential.
- Identify Potential for Accelerated Development.
- Support Candidates During Development Process.
- Adhere To Responsibilities According to Health and Safety Act.
- Monitor Expenditure.
- Monitor Income and Report on Variances.
- Implement Corrective Measures.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Grade 12
- 3-5 years related experience in a retail environment
